Located on a budding permaculture healing arts retreat center on 25 acres in Lincolnville, Maine, the cabin provides a simple and secluded retreat experience while remaining close to the coast and nearby towns.

Guests often wake to the sounds of songbirds and fall asleep beneath star-filled skies, with crickets and nighttime forest sounds creating the rhythm of the evening. Hawks are often seen soaring overhead, and owls are sometimes heard calling through the trees.

This bright and welcoming guest room is located within the Rootsong home on a developing 26-acre eco community and healing space in Lincolnville, Maine. With views of the gardens, forest, and nearby pond, the room offers a peaceful place to rest while staying close to nature.

The space includes a comfortable queen bed, a small work desk with high-speed internet, and access to a thoughtfully curated healing arts library. Natural light fills the room throughout the day, creating a calm environment for rest, reflection, or quiet work.

This room is one of three guest bedrooms within a shared home that also houses a small number of long-term residents. Guests are invited to enjoy the balance of privacy in their room and connection to the shared spaces of the house and land.

Shared Spaces

Guests have access to a full bathroom located on the second floor next to the guest room, shared with house residents.

Additional shared spaces include:

• A spacious, sun-filled living room
• South-facing sliding doors leading to a large cedar deck
• Gardens, backyard, and wooded trails
• Access to a refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, tea kettle, toaster oven, microwave, and sinks for light food preparation

Because the kitchen is used daily by long-term residents, guests are asked to keep food preparation simple and be mindful of shared spaces.

Surrounded by gardens, woods, and quiet natural beauty, the studio offers a simple and comfortable place to rest while staying connected to the land.

The studio includes a pull-out couch with a queen mattress, a small work desk with high-speed internet overlooking the garden, and a kitchenette for light food preparation. Guests often wake to birdsong and fall asleep to the sounds of crickets and the breeze moving through the trees.

With gardens, trails, and a small pond just outside the door, the space provides a peaceful base for those looking to slow down and experience the natural rhythms of Midcoast Maine.

Shared Spaces

Guests stay in the private studio with its own entrance while having access to several shared areas on the property.

Shared amenities include:

• Full bathroom on the main floor of the house (accessed through the main kitchen)
• Large cedar deck with seating and grill
• Gardens, backyard, and frog pond
• Woodland trails throughout the property

The property is located just three miles from both the ocean and nearby lakes, offering easy access to swimming, paddling, and coastal exploration.

Camden is about 15 minutes away, and Belfast is roughly 20 minutes away, offering restaurants, shops, and cultural events.

• Optional homemade locally sourced breakfast available for an additional fee
• Kayak and stand-up paddleboards available to rent during your stay
• Paddlecraft can be delivered to nearby launch points within approximately 20 minutes when arranged in advance
